This watermelon mini session was held in early August.  This particular little guy has a first birthday coming up so we used the mini session as a birthday session as well.  We got a first birthday banner with watermelons, a gingham table cloth, a picnic basket and a few watermelons.  We cut up a few pieces of watermelon and let the little guy eat his watermelon–juice dripping and pieces of watermelon all over his clothes!  He was delighted and couldn’t be happier.  What’s nice about an outdoor watermelon mini session or cake smash session in spring, summer or fall is the easy clean up.  Whether it is a “fruit smash” session or a cake smash session, clean up is much easier outdoors than inside and of course, the little ones love being outdoors.  Of course during the winter months, unless we have unusually mild weather, an indoor fruit smash or cake smash session is the way to go.  Sweet C Photography has many set ups available for first, second or third birthday sessions for little ones.  If your child wants to be a pirate, a mermaid, Moana, a surfer, a dancer, fisherman or captain, we can tailor most any theme into a wonderful birthday fantasy celebration!  I strive to get the expressions of wonder, delight and of course the funny faces and fruit and/or cake mess.  It is always nice starting the session with the baby is a cute, clean outfit and get some “clean” images and then either change the outfit or let them get into the fruit and cake and give them free reign to make a mess–often with hysterical results.  The look of delight on their face is priceless and these memories will be treasured forever–by the parents and baby.  Can you image looking at a fruit or cake smash image of yourself when you were one when you are an adult?  Contact me to discuss any ideas you may have for your baby’s special birthday session.  Given a little notice, we can set up just about any theme you could think of.  Contact me for more information.
