There is nothing more fun than a puppy pet session!  How exciting it is to bring a new puppy into the family.  Puppies are full of love and so sweet and cuddly never mind how cute they are. They get into stuff while exploring their new world.  No matter what breed (or breeds) your pup is, they are tiny compared to what will be their full grown size.  Getting their portraits done at this age is a great investment as you will be so surprised to look back at how cute and innocent your little fur kid was.

This golden retriever pup came into my studio when she was six weeks old.  She sniffed around and wasn’t too thrilled about being placed in a wood crate or placed on a chair.  She jumped off and wouldn’t stay any one place for too long.  I brought out some treats and she became much more cooperative.  We got some pictures of her with teddy bears, in a baby bath tub and with the Greatest Showman Drop.  We held a treat over her head and got the best pose for this shot.

Puppy sessions don’t usually last more than 20 or 30 minutes as pups don’t have much of an attention span–much a like a human baby.  The best time to photograph a puppy is after some moderate exercise when they will be a bit tired.  The same goes for older dogs if they are high strung and still full of energy. Dogs and puppies can also be photographed outdoors in a backyard, park or the beach.  If you are afraid they may run, we have stakes to keep them in place while photographing them, and the stakes can be removed while post processing the image.  Here are a few of my pet portraits in different locations: https://sweetcphotography.net/gallery/pets/
